Woman Taken to Hospital After Sliding into Broomfield Police Vehicle Following Alleged Hit-and-run

January 28, 2019 GMT

A woman was taken to a local hospital after an alleged hit-and-run followed by her vehicle striking a police vehicle.

Police spokeswoman Joleen Reefe said the driver had medical issues and was taken to a hospital for care.

An officer tried a “pit maneuver” to stop the woman’s vehicle near U.S. 128 and Wadsworth Boulevard after the driver would not pull over, Reefe said.

The crash into the police cruiser was not intentional, Reefe said, but occurred when the woman’s vehicle slid into the police unit when the officer pulled in front of her.

It is unclear if the driver will be cited for the initial hit-and-run.
