Carr Fire Victims Can Rely on AAA Northern California for Help

REDDING, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug 2, 2018--In response to the widespread damage caused by the Carr Fire, AAA Northern California is taking continued action to assist its members.

The AAA emergency response trailer is in the parking lot of the Shasta College evacuation center, located at 11555 Old Oregon Trail, Redding, California, 96003.

The trailer is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and is fully staffed with employees to assist AAA insurance customers with auto and home claims and to provide additional help as needed. As many as 300 people have come by the trailer for help since it opened at the college July 27.

AAA Northern California will also be at the county’s Local Assistance Center at Shasta High School, 2500 Eureka Way in Redding. The temporary center is being set up to provide residents recovery assistance from multiple agencies at a centralized location. It opens today at 9 a.m., and will remain open daily 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., through Wednesday, Aug. 8.

AAA Northern California insurance customers who have suffered damage to their homes or vehicles can also call AAA Northern California at 800-922-8228 for assistance.

Among the services being provided by AAA Northern California:

Debit cards are available to those with covered homeowners losses insured through AAA Northern California who have been displaced from their homes to help with immediate living expenses. Emergency road service is available to AAA members who have cars damaged by the Carr fire. CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer, is working with local Hertz offices to provide rental vehicles to those who have lost or damaged cars. Packages with personal care items and teddy bears for children are also available.
