Danbury Music Centre hosts memorial, dedication and fundraising concert in honor of Millie Siegel
The Danbury Music Centre is hosting a memorial, dedication and fundraising concert in honor of Mildred “Millie” Siegel Friday, May 24.
Beside music and dance, the evening will include guest speakers, shared memories and refreshments. There also will be a Performing Arts Scholarship established and the old DMC office space will be dedicated to her.

The Millie Siegel Scholarship will be given to an outstanding high-school student pursuing the arts in the Danbury area. Applications will be accepted for the 2020 year in March 2020. Winners will be determined by the Danbury Schools and the scholarships will be awarded in May (Millie’s month) .
Siegel, who died in 2018 at age 93, championed music and the arts in the greater Danbury area for 50 years. The life-long musician and former News-Times reporter was Coordinator of the Danbury Cultural Commission. She was an award-winning painter, member of the Flyboys’ Club (a visual arts collective), an active member of the Woman’s Club and a founding member of The Richter Association for the Arts.
