Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun slots revenues down 12 percent in April
Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun reported Wednesday that their slot-machine winnings were down 12 percent last month compared to a year ago.
The declines were the steepest the casinos have experienced in the eight full months that MGM Springfield has been open. The Connecticut casinos have posted year-over-year decreases in slots revenue in 10 straight months.
In April, Foxwoods “won,” or kept, 36.2 million the previous April. Mohegan Sun kept 45.2 million.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission reported that MGM Springfield kept 6.3 million in table-games revenue. The slots revenue was down 17 percent over the previous month. Year-over-year comparisons of MGM Springfield’s monthly revenue won’t be possible until September.
Foxwoods paid 11.3 million.
