Police: Delivery van strikes, kills man
CLAY, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities in upstate New York say a 28-year-old man who was struck by a delivery vehicle has died.
The Post-Standard reports Thomas Rizzo, of Syracuse, died Monday at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
Police say Rizzo was struck Monday morning in the town of Clay while walking in the street. Police say the van involved in the crash is owned by Servomation Refreshments Inc., of Canastota.
The driver of the van wasn’t injured in the crash and won’t be charged.
Rizzo’s friend, Carre Chapman, says he had left a friend’s house in Clay and was on his way to her Syracuse home at the time of the accident.
