Pine Valley plan prompts objections
Several Fort Wayne residents raised objections tonight to a planned three-story clubhouse and condominium development at Pine Valley Country Club.
Those who raised concerns live on or near the Pine Valley golf course.
Speaking to the Fort Wayne Plan Commission, those opposed spoke of construction traffic, the additional number of cars in the neighborhood once the building is complete and the aesthetics of the three-story clubhouse that will feature 36 luxury condominiums on the upper floors.
One resident described the development as visually similar to a large hospital that does not fit with the neighborhood’s aesthetic.
“What the pictures don’t show is the scale, the scale to the current houses,” said Linda Polley, who is a country club member living near the property. “This thing will dwarf our house by about four times.”
JATS LLC, the developer of the site, is asking the Plan Commission to approve a rezoning from the property’s single-family residential designation to multiple family residential to accommodate the condo units, a portion of which have already been sold. Prices for the unfinished units range from 752,000. Owners will pay to finish the interior of the units as desired.
