Orchids and Onions: Saturday, January 26, 2019

January 26, 2019 GMT

Another beautiful day in Havasu...

Orchids to Karen’s homemade French onion soup! Love, T and R.

Onions, tomatoes, liver on a plate. For some hillbillies, it taste like steak. Papa, Granny, would slice and chew. Uncle Buck loved it in his stew. I couldn’t swallow that slimy meat. Most of it went underneath my feet!

Onions to oil spilled on driveways. Stain removal is simple: pour gas on the oil stain, then take “cat litter” and sprinkle over the gas while still wet- grind it in with your foot. Let sit and sweep, repeat if necessary.

Orchids to the workers from Unisource Energy that had to install new equipment in our cul-de-sac in the Foothills, came to door asking if they could cut power for 20-30 minutes now or later, we said now and it was out less than 10 minutes. Job well done.

Orchids to the Eagle Riders for coming to our breakfast and for the generous donation. Thank You. Desert Hills Fire Department Auxiliary

Onions to the police officers patrolling near Oro Grande Elementary in the morning(s). People speed through the school zone and you don’t even pull anyone over! My kids cross that street in the morning and after school and you aren’t doing anything about it!

Onions to Balloon Fest not being on the island! They chose a parking lot! No fly overs, no parachutes flying over! No class. Orchids to the pilots for coming to Havasu

Orchids to the London Bridge Golf Club. They showed tremendous support for the Balloons and their crews this last weekend. I was a volunteer for all eight flights and we landed three times on the course. The course understands the value to the community. I golf a lot on this course and am proud of their attitude and support.

Orchids to the new owners of the old Desert Floors property. Beautiful landscaping and a new paint job. Pride of ownership!

Orchids to Jacob Ho at Anderson Dodge. What a great salesman He was very professional and patient with us and never gave up the search until he found us the right car. Thank You Jacob and the Anderson Team
