OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine (AP) — Maine Gov. Paul LePage and U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud will address veterans and their families this weekend to honor prisoners of war and servicemen missing in action.

The Republican governor will open the ceremony on Saturday in Old Orchard Beach and read a proclamation he signed declaring it POW/MIA Recognition. He will be followed by remarks from the Democratic Congressman.

The event is hosted by the Maine Heroes Fund organization and raises money for veterans in need.

Michaud recently announced that he will be run for governor against LePage in next year's election.
