City warns of sewage overflows
The city of Fort Wayne has issued a sewage overflow warning based on today’s weather forecast of rain.
The areas possibly affected are: St. Joseph River from Coliseum Boulevard to the confluence of the Maumee River; St. Mary’s River from Airport Expressway to the confluence of the Maumee; the Maumee from the confluence of the St. Joseph and the St.
Mary’s through the city of New Haven to the Platter Road bridge
over the Maumee in Milan Township; and Spy Run Creek.
The city’s combined sewer outfalls and areas where contact with water could be hazardous to your health. Officials advise avoiding direct contact with overflow streams; altering recreational activities; and washing your hands immediately if direct contact is made.
