Fine Arts Fiesta Now Accepting Bids For 2019 Food Vendors

February 19, 2019

WILKES-BARRE — The Fine Arts Fiesta board is accepting bids from food vendors for spaces at the 2019 fiesta to be held May 16-19 on Public Square. Bids must include full food and beverage menu and prices, linear foot bid (all bids begin at $25 per linear foot, with a minimum of 10 feet frontal space), a description of the food vendor stand and a photograph of approximately how it will appear. Bids must be postmarked by April 8 to be considered, with no exceptions. The board is “very concerned with food freshness, quality, refrigeration, stand cleanliness and overall aesthetic presentation of all vendor spaces,” according to fiesta Executive Director Brian Benedetti. If two vendors bid with the same food item, the higher bid will prevail. If there is a tie, the vendors will have to rebid for the space. Upon a second tie, a drawing will be held with the festival board present. All successful bidders will be notified by hard-copy letter and have seven days to pay their fee in full unless otherwise arranged. Wilkes-Barre city license fees are $300 for first-time vendors, good for one year at all city functions except the Farmers Market; $200 for a renewal year; or $150 for a temporary four-day license, which has been added for those choosing to vend only at the fiesta. Call 570-208-4149 with any questions about vending licenses. Interested vendors should also carefully read and keep in mind the following before submitting bids: • The Fine Arts Fiesta reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids. No distinction will be made between for-profit or not-for-profit vendors. • At least seven days before the fiesta opens on May 16, vendors must provide a certificate of broad-form comprehensive general public liability insurance with the Fine Arts Fiesta listed as additionally insured, with a minimum of $1 million coverage. • A contract will be sent to successful bidders. It must be signed and returned with the amount due for the agreed-upon frontage as per the schedule in the bid form. Bid forms can be downloaded online at www.fineartsfiesta.org or obtained by mailing a request to Fine Arts Fiesta, P.O. Box 2053, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18703-2053. Call Benedetti with any additional questions between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at 570-885-0419. — STEVE MOCARSKY
