Electric car credit not the answer

You gave Utah Power a thumbs up for giving people $3,000 to help purchase electric cars. I’m pretty sure they can write this off. You also mentioned it would help people be less dependent on fossil fuels. Utah Power makes 78 percent of their electricity from fossil fuels, 62 percent is from coal. If you have solar, by the time you get home its too late to charge your car with solar -- so you are dependent on Utah Power.

The batteries degrade over time so you will get less range as they get older. Replacement batteries are $5,400 and you have 1,200 pounds of hazardous waste to dispose of. Not really environmentally friendly.
