Four Killed in Helicopter Crash in Greenland

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) _ Four people, including a child, were killed when their helicopter crashed on Greenland’s west coast, police said Monday.

A mother and her two children survived the crash of the Bell 212 helicopter, which belonged to the domestic airline Gronlandsfly.

The crash occurred near the settlement of Innaarsuit, about 650 miles north of the capital, Nuuk.

The victims were an adult Greenlander, one child and the helicopter’s two Swedish pilots, said Police Commissioner Ole Gaard in Nuuk. The cause of the crash was not immediateloy known, he said.

Greenland is a semi-independent Danish territory.
