Katy middle blocker Meuth voted TGCA all-state

Katy’s Amanda Meuth added all-state accolades to her stellar senior season as the Texas Girls Coaches Association released it postseason awards for volleyball.

Meuth represented Katy ISD on the Class 6A list after leading the Tigers in both kills (445) and blocks (81) while hitting a team-best .391. She averaged 3.2 kills per set, reaching double figures in 21 matches.

The University of Houston signee had a season-high 23 kills as the Tigers outlasted Cypress Creek in five sets for the area championship. She also hit .500 or better in five district matches, twice without a hitting error. Her season-best in blocks was six in only three sets, a Sept. 1 tournament victory against Klein Oak.

Meuth was a fixture at the net for the Tigers, earning all-district honors four consecutive years. Included in her career totals are 338 kills (3.6) and 55 blocks from her junior season.
