Escaped N.H. Inmate Has Winchendon Ties

TYNGSBORO -- Police are looking for a New Hampshire inmate who escaped custody on Friday, Feb. 22, and was last seen in Tyngsboro on Saturday.

Jeffrey Groulx, 44, was serving time for felony robbery and was eligible for release in January 2020, according to a press release from the New Hampshire Department of Corrections.

According to information shared by the Massachusetts Department of Correction, Groulx was last seen in the area of 122 Middlesex Road Saturday afternoon and left on foot towards Chelmsford and Lowell. He has ties to Lowell, Westford, Winchendon and New Hampshire.


Groulx is described as a white, 5′11, 155 pounds with blue eyes and dark hair, according to the New Hampshire DOC release.

He was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, a red hooded sweatshirt under a black jacket, black sneakers and carrying a dark backpack, according to Massachusetts DOC.

Anyone who sees him is warned not to attempt to detain him but to call the DOC Fugitive Unit at 508-473-9509, Capt. Wright at 774-292-2823 or local or state police.
