Realtor of the week: Craddock has ‘eye for the aesthetic’

December 28, 2017 GMT

Realtors across the city, including Mary Craddock, a Realtor with John Daugherty, Realtors, agree the real estate industry in Houston is thriving and prices have remained steady. With interest rates still fairly low, it is a good time to buy and sell.

Craddock graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for medical illustration. She is also fluent in Spanish, which benefits many of her clients, along with her experience and market knowledge.

Prior to real estate, Craddock was a part-time medical illustrator, a substitute teacher, a commissioned artist and the mother of six children, all of which required hard work and multitasking.

“An artist is a self-motivated person who needs self discipline to produce and sell work, and this discipline and work ethic keep me focused in my real estate career. In addition, having an eye for the aesthetic helps me show the potential of a house to clients,” Craddock said.

As a Houston native, Craddock knows the city and amenities her clients are often seeking.

“I know Houston and the many neighborhoods. I have lived in River Oaks for over 40 years and it has become my main focus area. However, I consider Tanglewood, West University and Southampton as areas as part of my focus as well,” Craddock said.

River Oaks is a sought-after area, with its preserved architecture, green spaces, and its convenience to downtown, the arts, restaurants and good schools.

Craddock also has continued her real estate education to ensure her clients have the best possible service. She holds designations as an Accredited Buyer’s Representative and a Certified Negotiation Expert.

She enjoys working with all clients, whether a first-time home buyer, newcomers to Houston, families moving to a larger home, or a senior downsizing, and in all price points.

Craddock also is a people person who loves working with her clients and finding them the best house for their needs.

“I work hard for my clients. Plus, I often help them with additional needs and services, such as architects, landscapers, doctors, etc. and it is always a pleasure helping and building friendships,” Craddock said.

There are so many aspects of a real estate transaction, and she is there guiding clients through the process from beginning to closing.

Craddock is known for her negotiating, listening and communication skills, staying abreast of the economy and new developments, patience, and marketing.
