Trimble: 4Q Earnings Snapshot
SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) _ Trimble Navigation Ltd. (TRMB) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $279.3 million.
The Sunnyvale, California-based company said it had net income of $1.11 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 53 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 47 cents per share.
The GPS manufacturer posted revenue of $824 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $785.6 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $514.3 million, or $2.03 per share. Revenue was reported as $3.26 billion.
For the current quarter ending in April, Trimble expects its per-share earnings to range from 40 cents to 45 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $778 million to $808 million for the fiscal first quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $821.7 million.
Trimble shares have increased almost 6% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $44.11, a climb of 13% in the last 12 months.
