Going Out: Big weekend for the arts

Dance and play at La Fête de Marquette 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday in McPike Park (formerly Central Park), 202 S. Ingersoll St. Three stages of music and entertainment, food and beverages, games and activities, arts and crafts, carnival rides, and more fill the weekend with fun for the whole family. Join Madison Circus Space and the Handphibians for a parade 8 p.m. Friday! Admission is free.

Art fairs

Admire, and purchase, original creations from nearly 500 artists at Art Fair On the Square 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday around Capitol Square, Downtown Madison. Madison Museum of Contemporary Art hosts the 60th annual family-friendly event that also includes three stages of music and entertainment. Refreshment vendors will be offering an assortment of foods from international cuisine to locally-sourced fare. Free arts and crafts activities for children of all ages will be in the kids’ area. Admission is free.

Go beyond Capitol Square to find Art Fair Off the Square in the 200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and on the Olin Terrace Walkway leading up to the Monona Terrace 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. You’ll find more original creations to admire and purchase from more than 130 artists exclusively from Wisconsin. Admission is free.

Search for treasures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Madison Speedway Marketplace held at the Madison International Speedway, 1122 Sunrise Road, Oregon. Vendors from Wisconsin and Illinois bring collectibles, arts and crafts, toys, vintage items, antiques, and more. Find health and wellness products, fresh produce, baked goods, food carts, and more. Visit the Madison Area Home & Business Expo 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in Keva Sports Center, 8312 Forsythia St., Middleton. Connect with businesses to address your homeowner or family needs. The family-friendly event also hosts an indoor miniature golf course ($2/per person, per game) and $1 carnival games for kids. Cash admission is $3/adults, free for kids 9 and under, and free for seniors 65-plus.

Country music fest

Pull on your cowboy boots and head over to Prairie Lakes Red Dirt Days 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday at Prairie Lakes Courtyard, 2824 Prairie Lakes Drive, Sun Prairie. Saturday features a bike and car show with classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, and maybe even a tractor or two! There will be music from Southbound and food carts for refreshments. Admission on Saturday is free.

Country music kicks up the red dirt on Sunday with Wheelhouse, 5th Gear, and Jackson Taylor and the Sinners performing. Refreshments will be served in a beer tent and from food carts. Sunday admission is $10/adults, and free for children ages 10 and under.
