Fairfield Animal Shelter to host low-cost rabies clinic

May 7, 2019

FAIRFIELD — Residents looking to get their pet a rabies vaccination can participate in a low-cost clinic being held in town on Saturday.

The Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association Rabies Clinic will run from 10 a.m. to noon at the Fairfield Animal Shelter, 211 Richard White Way.

The cost of each vaccination is $20 per pet. Any dog or cat owner that shows a state assistance card can get one free rabies vaccination.

Any pet owners bringing their dog or cat for its first rabies vaccine will have to get their pet an additional vaccine next year. If the pet has been vaccinated for rabies at least once before, a new vaccination will be good for three years.

All dogs must be leashed. All cats must be in secure cat carries.

Contact Fairfield Animal Control at 203-254-4857 for more information.
