Climate Change-97% Consensus(?)Sunday, 19 Feb 2017 there was an article by Shelbie Harris talking about 97% of the peer-reviewed scientific literature agree that human’s cause climate change. The problem is that the 97% is false data. Approximately 50% or less of the climate scientists feel that humans cause climate change. That is a big difference. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and John Kerry and Pres. Obama used the 97%., but there is NOT a Consensus by climate scientists. The Global Warming Petition Project (2015) is a statement about causes and consequences of climate change signed by over 31,000 American scientists. It states ‘ We urge the United States government to reject the global warming agreement that was written in Kyoto, Japan in December, 1997, ... The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology, and damage the health and welfare of mankind. There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate.’ They go on and state that there is substantial scientific evidence that increased carbon dioxide levels in the Earth’s atmosphere have several benefits. After reading such material and much more, I am convinced that there are alarmists who are not science or fact based. The IPCC has proponents that are more for money than for our Earth’s good and some of those are climate scientists. There is not a consensus, yet. Don’t take your child to the hospital for major surgery when 50% of the doctors disagree with the diagnosis. I am proud of the current president for listening to scientists rather than those wanting money.
