3-star DT Dashaun Mallory joins MSU’s 2018 class
East Lansing — Michigan State, already well into spring practice, got a late addition to its 2018 recruiting class.
On Monday night, three-star defensive lineman Dashaun Mallory from Bolingbrook (Ill.) High posted on Twitter that he had committed to the Spartans and was planning to sign on Tuesday.
“Due to my academic progress, Coach Dantonio has accepted my verbal commitment to Michigan State!Dreams DO come true! Signing tomorrow !!” Mallory posted on Twitter.
Coach Mark Dantonio and his staff had been actively recruiting Mallory, but the 6-foot-3, 260-pounder did not sign with Michigan State in either the early signing period in December or during the traditional signing period in February.
His addition would give the Spartans 22 players in the 2018 class. Twenty of them signed in December while MSU added one in February. Seven players enrolled early and are taking part in spring practice.
