Utah Valley Symphony spring concert goes ‘Out of This World’
The Utah Valley Symphon y is preparing for an “Out of This World” spring concert this week.
The concert program is set to include “The Planets” by Gustav Holst, to be paired with projected images and vide o of the solar system, and “Helios Overture, Op. 17” by Carl Nielsen.
The Utah Valley Symphony was organized as a nonprofit organization in 1959 to give local musicians “an opportunity to use their talents and to provide the community with symphony music,” according to its websit e. The group “aims to be the premier orchestra in Utah Valley, allowing the best musicians in our population to perform great music to the highest standard,” according to its mission statement.
The symphony will perform Wednesda y and Thursda y at 7:30 p.m. at the Covey Center for the Art s, 425 W. Center St., Provo. Tickets, priced from $12-$15, are available at the box office, by calling (801) 852-7007 and online at coveycenter.or g.
