ADA, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say one person was killed and an Ada police officer was wounded in a shooting in southeastern Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says in a news release that the shooting occurred Tuesday morning as Ada police attempted to serve undisclosed felony warrants and were met with gunfire from the suspect outside a home in the city about 65 miles (105 kilometers) southeast of Oklahoma City.

The release says one officer was struck and other officers returned fire, killing the suspect. The release said the wounded officer was treated and released at a hospital.

No names or other details were immediately released. An OSBI spokeswoman and Ada police did not immediately return calls to The Associated Press for further comment.
