Shelton closes out 2017 atop two charts

December 22, 2017 GMT

Blake Shelton wraps up 2017 with his 25th No. 1 hit. “I’ll Name The Dogs” tops both the Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck/Mediabase charts this week. The song is the debut single from Shelton’s new “Texoma Shore” album, which was released last month.

“What a great way to end 2017 with ‘I’ll Name The Dogs’ at No. 1,” Shelton said. “As I look back over another incredible year, I know that the success has been because of the love and support from my fans. This song and several others on ‘Texoma Shore’ are a little more throwback, traditional country. They take me back to a time when I was growing up in Oklahoma, when things were a little less complicated. Thank you to my fans for embracing my music both new and old — and for all you do for my family and me. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your family.” Shelton hits the road again in 2018 for his headlining Country Music Freaks tour alongside Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce and special guest Trace Adkins beginning Feb. 15, 2018, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

HOT DEBUT: Once again, Luke Bryan debuts at No. 1 on both the Billboard all-genre Top 200 chart and Top Country Albums chart this week with “What Makes You Country.” This is Bryan’s third consecutive album to debut at No. 1 on both charts. At the same time, Bryan’s 19th career chart-topping single “Light It Up,” the first release from “What Makes You Country,” marked his 10th straight Billboard Country Airplay leader, the longest current streak among all artists, which began with “Play It Again” in 2014. Bryan’s What Makes You Country tour kicks off in February 2018 with special guests Kip Moore and The Cadillac Three.

WOMEN OF COUNTRY: Sara Evans has partnered with CMT for its fourth annual Next Women of Country Tour, called All The Love tour, in 2018. The tour, also featuring RaeLynn and Kalie Shorr, launches Feb. 12 in New York City. The trek includes 15 shows from coast to coast. “I absolutely love that CMT champions female artists with the Next Women of Country Tour and am so honored to be headlining it in 2018,” Evans said. “I can’t wait to hit the road with RaeLynn and Kalie. They are both incredible singers, songwriters and overall artists, and we’re going to have a blast.” Tickets and VIP packages for the CMT Next Women of Country presents Sara Evans All The Love Tour go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at SaraEvans.com and NextWomenTour.CMT.com.
