Ohio fire departments to receive funding

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — Ohio State Fire Marshal Jeff A. Hussey is scheduled to award $360,000 to 18 Scioto County fire departments to get the MARCS radio equipment, according to a news release.

The award is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the Jefferson Fire Department, in the Lucasville area, according to the release. The 18 fire departments will be getting $20,000 each for the Multi-Agency Radio Communications System.

It is part of $3 million being allocated to Ohio fire departments.

In Lawrence County, the Decatur Township Volunteer Fire Department is set to receive $960, while the Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Department is set to receive $240, according to the release.
