Senior defenseman DJ Fantasia scored the winning goal with 4:59 left to play in the third period as Billerica edged Waltham, 3-2, in an MVC/DCL Division 1 boys hockey game.


In an MVC/DCL girls hockey game, Westford Academy blanked Cambridge Rindge & Latin by the score of 4-0.

Matt Livingston assisted on Fantasia’s game-winning tally.

Garrett Climo and Alexander Coulot potted one goal each for the Indians, who improved their record to 7-2-2 overall and 4-2-1 in MVC/DCL Div. 1.

John Jenkins had 1 assist.

Connor Feeney made 20 saves in goal.

Junior Brendan DeMarco scored 2 goals and added an assist to lead Lowell in an MVC/DCL game at the Tsongas Center.

Senior Ben Asselin and sophomores Kevin Conley and Keegan Cote scored the other Lowell goals. Senior Thomas Hassett, sophomore Shawn Spring and freshman B.J. Anderson each had 2 assists while sophomore Matt Asselin had one.

Senior Patrick Cote made 22 saves to earn the win in net.

The North Middlesex Patriots rallied to earn a 3-3 tie at the Wallace Civic Center on Wednesday, with Trent Costa potting the tying goal with 2:06 left in the game.

Costa scored twice and added an assist for the Patriots (4-4-1) and Joe Murphy added a single tally.

Ryan Riel dished out 3 assists for North Middlesex.

Pat Madden of Pelham, N.H. scored the Cardinal goal with assists from Ben Young (Pelham, N.H.) and Aaron Pratt (Groton).

Chris Sullivan (Hudson, N.H.) made 25 saves in goal for BG (5-6, 5-3 N.H. Div. 1).

Hopedale overcame a 3-2 deficit by scoring the lone third-period goals to sink Littleton during non-conference action.

Hopedale outshot Littleton (5-5-1) by a 26-19 margin. Danny Angell led the Tigers with a goal and assist. Nick Brown and James Peterson picked up goals, while Chris Berger, Tim Kelleher and Ben Hays earned an assist each.
