St. Anne picks up exciting RVC win over G-SW

The Cardinals picked up a dramatic, come-from-behind win over G-SW in a three-set thriller 17-25, 25-19, 27-25 on Tuesday.

Brandi Chase led the way for St. Anne with 11 kills, five assists, three digs and four aces. Alexis Sellers piled up eight kills and 13 assists, and Grace Langellier added seven kills.

The River Valley Conference win improves St. Anne’s overall record to 10-11-1 and its conference standing to 7-4.

Cissna Park def. Tri-Point 25-11, 25-8

The Timberwolves bounced back from Monday’s two-set loss to Watseka with a commanding win over Tri-Point.

Gabby Wessels led Cissna Park with five kills and five aces, Sloan Boyce had six kills, and Anna Jennings set up 16 assists.

The ’Wolves are 27-4 overall this season.

Sierra Hummel had three kills and nine digs for Tri-Point, and Paisley Johnston added six digs.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda def. Iroquois West 25-14, 25-8

The Panthers made quick work of the Raiders in two lopsided sets.

Iroquois West will next see action Thursday against Cissna Park.

Rich Central def. Kankakee 25-20, 25-18

The Kays dropped their final match of the regular season to undefeated Southland Conference champion, Rich Central.

Despite the loss, Kankakee’s 7-3 conference record was good enough to take second place.

Milford def. Schlarman 25-22, 25-23

The Bearcats improved to 21-7 overall and 10-2 in the Vermilion Valley Conference with a two-set win over Schlarman.

Kaylee Warren came up big for Milford in the win, tallying 22 assists and 14 digs in just two sets. Emily Duis added 14 kills.

Peotone def. Wilmington 26-24, 25-20

The Blue Devils edged Wilmington for an Interstate Eight Conference win.

Aubrey Sinchak piled up 19 digs for Wilmington, Abby Chamberlin had 16 assists and five kills, and Taylor Van Duyne and Abby Holmes added six kills apiece in the loss.

Coal City def. Sandwich 20-25, 25-19, 25-17

After a slow start, the Coalers rallied back and ended the regular season with a nice win over Sandwich on senior night.

Katelyn Sisk led Coal City with 13 kills and five digs, Brooke Chapman set up 26 assists and had five digs, and Ali Brancato added 13 digs in the three-set I-8 win.
