Star Wars invades Cleveland at Free Comic Book Day 2018′s kickoff (VIDEO)

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The diehard fans of Free Comic Book Day - the day that comic book stores throughout the nation give away hundreds of specially printed titles - will go to great lengths to get their hands on the goods.

The night of May 4th at Carol & John’s Comic Book Shop (17462 Lorain Ave), fans wrapped around the block waiting for the stoke of midnight, when the comics would be officially become available to the public. Some people came in costume, some brought board games, some made cookies that they shared with everyone.

Part of the night’s pre-release entertainment were the members of the 501st Legion, a nationwide group of Star Wars enthusiasts and cosplayers who dress as their favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away.

The group is more than a group of extreme movie fans, as we learned talking to Legion member Lindsay Cecil, who shared a little bit in our video about their mission of volunteering in the community, and making life brighter for even the smallest of Jedi.
