Every summer, the Levitt Pavilion, in Westport, offers a “50 FREE Nights under the Stars!” season of entertainment.

And the way the nonprofit pays for all this is through benefit events, during which it offers performances by legendary performers and such perks as meet-and-greet receptions and premium seating.

Coming on Friday, July 14, is a “Special Stars-On-Tour Event!” benefit featuring classic rock artist Dave Mason, of Traffic fame, for which he was was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Archival photos and autobiographical commentary will complement the show.

“Over the course of his career, Mason has played and recorded with many notable pop and rock musicians, including Paul McCartney, George Harrison, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Steve Winwood, Fleetwood Mac, Delaney & Bonnie and Cass Elliott,” the Pavilion noted in its announcement.

Mason will revisit his classic masterpieces with his band Johnne Sambataro, Alvino Bennett and Tony Patler. The concert will include fan-favorite songs such as “All Along The Watchtower” and “Feelin’ Alright.”

The concert goes on rain or shine. No pets, no smoking. Concession and Terrace Bar will be open for this event. For the lawn, beach chairs and/or picnic blankets are recommended.
