Man points gun at rival in dispute over woman, Madison police say
A Fitchburg man had a gun pointed at him early Thursday morning by a rival in a dispute over a woman.
The incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. on Todd Drive near Pelham Road, Madison police said.
The 33-year-old Fitchburg man told police he was a passenger in a car and realized the car was being followed.
“He told the driver to pull over,” said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. “He got out and asked the guy behind the wheel of the trailing car what was going on.”
The man responded by pointing a handgun at the victim while saying “I should burn you right now.”
The man with the handgun then drove away and nothing else happened.
“The victim said he and the other man share an interest in the same woman,” DeSpain said.
No description of the suspect was given, and police weren’t able to find him in the area.
