Norwegian Air to close crew base at Rhode Island airport
WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — Low-cost carrier Norwegian Air has announced it is closing its crew base at T.F. Green Airport in Rhode Island.
Norwegian spokesman Anders Lindstrom tells the Providence Journal they have not set an exact date for the closing, but it will happen later this year.
The airline said Wednesday it will continue to offer service to the Warwick airport.
The change comes as the airline is making a series of cuts to services and routes across Europe and the U.S.
Rhode Island Airport Corporation spokesman Bill Fischer says they expect no changes to Norwegian’s current winter or summer schedules.
