Local Farm Dinner - Sitti in downtown Raleigh is hosting a five-course dinner featuring ingredients from local farms. Tickets are $75.
Pi Day - It’s March 14, also known as 3.14 or pie day! That means The Pie Hole in Durham will offer special prices all day, like their an-favorite Classic Key Lime Pie for $3.14 a slice, which will remain on the menu through St. Patrick’s Day. Customers can also order a small latte for only $3.14, and, starting at 6:30, the restaurant will debut their new wine menu to be enjoyed with any of their sweet or savory pies.
Hush Hush Comedy - Each Wednesday, patrons of Fullsteam Brewery add their anonymous confessions into a “bucket of truth.” At 8 p.m., improv comedians read those aloud and turn one person’s wild shame into everyone’s party.
Fleet Feet Social Run - Meet at Raleigh Brewing Co. at 6:30 to run, then stick around afterward for a pint and dinner from a rotating crew of food trucks.
Sip Shop Support Pop-Up - Pharmacy Bottle + Beverage in downtown Cary is hosting a pop-up fundraiser. From 6 to 8 p.m., shop artwork from local artists, enjoy delicious wine tastings and learn more about Cary Visual Art, a non-profit that places art within the community and supports the town’s art scene.
Wine Walk for Second Chance Pet Adoptions - Visit Lafayette Village for a Wine Walk in support of Second Chance Pet Adoptions! Participating merchants will be offering free wine tasting at their business from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the shops and restaurants and taste some fabulous wines. The fee to participate is $10, with proceeds going to Second Chance.
Jerry Seinfeld - The comedian will perform his stand-up routine at DPAC.
Science Cafe: Brain Awareness Night - The Daily Planet Cafe, located in the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, will host this event where adults and kids can meet local neuroscientists and interact with hands-on brains and behavior-themed exhibits suitable for all ages and hear a special talk from prominent neuroscientist Dr. Jeff Lichtman from Harvard University.
Drag Bingo - This 90s-themed bingo game at The Durham Armory features prizes and fun for the entire family.
A Celtic Celebration with the NC Symphony - Ahead of St. Patrick’s day, take a musical journey through the history and culture of the Emerald Isle at Meymandi Concert Hall tonight with singers, pipers and Irish step dancers.
The March Dangling Loafer ft. Sam Mazany - Local funny boy Sam Mazany will headline The Dangling Loafer for the first time at Kings. Joe Perrow, Shari Diaz, Dusty Cagle, Grant Sheffield and Tyler Wood will also perform. Doors open at 7:30.
Scrappy Hour - Inspired by the “Wine and Design” concept, The Scrap Exchange in Durham hosts these classes as a fun way to create unique DIY projects in a social setting. BYOB, and the crafting center will provide supplies, snacks and instruction. Cost to participate is $25.
