Career fair planned in Bridgeport for formerly incarcerated

April 25, 2018

BRIDGEPORT — A career fair for the formerly incarcerated will be held in the city Thursday morning.

From 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., former offenders can participate in the job fair at the Margaret E. Morton Government Center on Broad Street. The fair is hosted by Career Resources, Inc., in partnership with the city.

“There is a need for this type of job fair. There are a lot of people who are facing barriers in terms of finding employment. At the same time, there are a lot of employers who are willing to help. We’re connecting the two,” said Ernie Newtown, an employee and event coordinator for Career Resources, Inc.

Career Resources, Inc., is a nonprofit organization providing youth and adults throughout the state with resources, skills and support.
