David ‘Jiver’ Robak

May 6, 1948 – June 23, 2018

David ‘Jiver’ Robak, 70, died June 23, 2018 at his home in Columbus.

A memorial service is being held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at McKown Funeral home in Columbus. Family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at McKown Funeral Home prior to the memorial service. Burial is being held at All Saints Cemetery with military honors presented by the Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.

David Robak was born May 6, 1948 in Columbus to Elmer and Elizabeth (Bernecki) Robak. He graduated from Scotus High School in 1966. After serving in the U.S. Army from March 1968 March 1970, he travelled the western US on his pride and joy, his Kawasaki 900. He lived and worked in Los Angeles and Las Vegas for a couple of years and then returned home. He worked numerous jobs in Columbus, including Behlens, Union Pacific Railroad, Columbus Hydraulics and R & S Track Maintenance. Dave enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching sports and Jeopardy on TV and his daily walk to Miceks Shangri-La. He also enjoyed going to Creighton basketball games, K.C. Royals baseball games and playing Backgammon. Dave was a member of Hartman Post #84 American Legion.

Dave is survived by Dan (Marilyn) Robak of Columbus, brother Steve Robak of Columbus, brother Mike (Jan) Robak of Schaumburg, Illinois; brother John (Angell) Robak of Columbus, brother Jim Robak of Columbus, brother Mark (Kris) Robak of Columbus, brother Tim Robak of Columbus, nephews Craig, Brett, Austin, Cory, Matt, Chris, Justin, Jozef, Ian; and nieces Kerry, Jill, Erica, Sabrina. Allie, Kaitlyn, Kelcey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Elizabeth Robak, nephew Ben Robak,Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
