Coroner: California college student died from alcohol
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a Southern California college student found dead in a home near campus died from alcohol poisoning.
The Orange County sheriff’s Coroner Division on Monday said 18-year-old Noah Domingo died Jan. 12 from “accidental acute ethanol intoxication.”
Authorities say tests show Domingo had a blood alcohol level of 0.331.
Irvine police are investigating to determine whether any crimes contributed to Domingo’s death.
The first year-student was found dead in a bed at a home near University of California, Irvine and a campus fraternity was suspended pending investigation.
Tom Vasich, a spokesman for the school, says the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity later voted to suspend the Irvine group’s charter and the campus group was disbanded.
