Agilent: Fiscal 4Q Earnings Snapshot
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) _ Agilent Technologies Inc. (A) on Monday reported fiscal fourth-quarter profit of $195 million.
The Santa Clara, California-based company said it had net income of 61 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 81 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 73 cents per share.
The scientific instrument maker posted revenue of $1.29 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.26 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $316 million, or 97 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $4.91 billion.
For the current quarter ending in February, Agilent expects its per-share earnings to range from 71 cents to 73 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $1.26 billion to $1.28 billion for the fiscal first quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $1.28 billion.
Agilent expects full-year earnings in the range of $3 to $3.05 per share, with revenue ranging from $5.13 billion to $5.17 billion.
Agilent shares have dropped 6.5 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has risen almost 1 percent. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $62.61, a decrease of 9 percent in the last 12 months.
