NC State guard Markell Johnson suspended for unspecified conduct violation
North Carolina State University sophomore guard Markell Johnson has been suspended from the basketball team for an unspecified violation, according to a university spokesperson.
Johnson was suspended for a violation of the student-athlete code of conduct, according to a press release from Craig Hammel, director of athletics communications. The specific violation was not released.
“We will not have further comment on this matter at the current time,” Hammel said in the statement.
The 6-foot-1 guard from Cleveland, Ohio, has played in 10 games this season, averaging 8.7 points per contest.
The Wolfpack plays UNG Greensboro Saturday afternoon in Raleigh.
