Lutheran High Northeast football team’s season comes to end

The Lutheran High Northeast football team’s season has come to a close. The Eagles dropped their Class ‘D-1’ quarterfinal contest at Norfolk’s Veterans Memorial Field to Creighton last night 76-28 in a game heard on 106 KIX.

The Bulldogs’ Bryce Zimmerer ran for 199 yards off ten carries and three touchdowns in the victory. Teammate, and cousin, Brayden Zimmerer scampered for 156 yards off eight carries and three TD’s and threw for another. Thad Hazen ran for 103 yards off just three carries and two scores while also catching a touchdown reception. In all, Creighton totaled 593 yards of offense with 539 occurring on the ground. Hazen had twelve tackles and Clay Curtis had ten stops to lead the Bulldog defense. Lutheran High Northeast, who was held to their lowest point total of the season, totaled only 99 rushing yards of their 332 total. Jaxson Kant had a touchdown pass and a touchdown run before suffering an arm injury late in the second quarter. Their final record is 9-2. Creighton improves to 11-0 and will host Exeter/Milligan/Friend in a semifinal game on Monday. EMF eliminated West Point Guardian Angels Central Catholic in their quarterfinal game last night 46-12.
