September 29, 2018

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Montana’s candidates for U.S. Senate and House are holding the first of two back-to-back debates on Saturday.

First, Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Greg Gianforte, Democratic challenger Kathleen Williams and Libertarian Elinor Swanson meet in Helena at 6 p.m. That debate will be broadcast live on MTN television stations and Yellowstone Public Radio.

Immediately afterward, Montana PBS will broadcast the debate between Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Tester and Republican challenger Matt Rosendale at 7 p.m. from Missoula.

Both debates will be held inside television studios without live audiences.

Similar back-to-back debates are also scheduled for next Saturday. The Senate debate will be held in Great Falls and the House debate will be in Bozeman.

They are the only debates scheduled for either race before the Nov. 6 election.
