Minneapolis police ask for public’s help finding suspect in attempted abduction case

Minneapolis police are asking for the publics help locating a man accused of trying to abduct a preteen girl on Tuesday evening in south Minneapolis.

Authorities believe a white male, approximately 50 to 60 years old with a long black beard attempted to kidnap a child around 5:30 p.m. in the area of 41st Street and Chowen Avenue S. not far from Bde Maka Ska and Lake Harriet.

The suspect was wearing a flat cap newspaper-style hat, black jacket and peach pants, police said. Hes described as 6 feet tall with a thin build and a beard down to his chest.

Investigators are checking local surveillance video in the area and combing for evidence.
