Three charged in interstate drug ring; 100 pounds of marijuana, $1 million seized

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Federal and local authorities arrested three men and seized over $1 million and 100 pounds Tuesday as part of an investigation into an interstate drug ring.

Amer Jabir, 37, Ahmad Jabir, 23, of and Aymen Abdelrahim, 28, are charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and/or conspiring to distribute marijuana, according to the FBI in Cleveland.

Ahmad Jabir and Abdelrahhim are also charged with possession with intent to distribute controlled narcotics and/or conspired to distribute controlled narcotics, federal authorities said.

Amer Jabir is a resident of Chicago, and Weelawken, New Jersey. He was arrested in Chicago.

Ahmad Jabir and Abdelrahhim are from Cleveland and was arrested in the city.

Investigators said Amer Jabir transported large amounts of marijuana from California to Chicago, and dropped off a portion of it in Chicago. The rest of it came to Cleveland and Detroit, according to federal investigators.

Ahmad Jabir and Abdelrahhim served as dealers, officials said.

Following the arrest of the three men over 100 pounds of marijuana and over $1 million dollars in cash were seized at locations in Chicago and North Olmsted.

Amer Jabir was scheduled to make an initial court appearance at the federal courthouse in Chicago. Abdelrahim and Ahmad Jabir will appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge David Ruiz in Cleveland investigators said.
