NEXT Young Professionals donate $10,000 to Riverside Discovery Center
SCOTTSBLUFF - NEXT Young Professionals presented a $10,000 check on Wednesday from the 2017 Best of the West Beer and Wine Festival proceeds to the Riverside Discovery Center Bear Exhibit.
NEXT Young Professionals recognizes the community enrichment Riverside Discovery Center provides individuals, families and visitors to the area.
“Riverside Discovery Center has an amazing array of programs and provides extensive education and outreach to our community. Many of the young professionals that are NEXT members are raising families, so to have an organization like theirs to come and enjoy is great,” said Jon Hunzeker, NEXT Young Professionals board president. ”We were thrilled that the 2017 Beer and Wine Fest fell on solar eclipse weekend. This created a record year of fundraising for that event. We are proud that NEXT can step up and invest more into the community this year.”
The gift comes amidst Riverside Discovery Center’s Capital Campaign, which is raising funds to build an exhibit for two grizzly bear cubs who were recently rescued in Wyoming. Funds will benefit the remodeling needed to make a proper home for the orphaned cubs.
“It is great to know that so many business leaders in our community see and believe in the changes taking place here at Riverside Discovery Center,” said Anthony Mason, zoo director. “It reassures me we are on the right track and that others will surely follow suit. Thanks to NEXT young professionals we’ve got a great start on phase one of our capital campaign and I can’t thank them enough.
