April 17, 2019 GMT

Gov. Roy Cooper on Wednesday announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the capture of an inmate who has committed several other crimes since escaping in October.

Cul P. Jones, 45, who was serving time for breaking and entering, escaped from the Hoke County Correctional Institution on Oct 14.

Since his escape, officials said Jones has become the main suspect in a multi-state crime spree that includes burglary, larceny and car theft.

Jones is described as being 6 feet tall and weighing 184 pounds, and authorities said he walks with a limp.

Officials said he has a “violent criminal history” and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anybody with information is asked to call the North Carolina Department of Public Safety at 919-838-3572 or the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office at 252-583-8201.
