Craig Karges to headline fundraiser

October 10, 2018

CHARLESTON — For its 25th annual fundraiser, Kanawha Pastoral Counseling Center will bring in mentalist Craig Karges, a West Virginia native and a graduate of Marshall University.

The event, formerly called the Jim Dent Dinner after the longtime Charleston Gazette columnist, has been renamed this year to Friday Night Live. It’s scheduled for Oct. 26, at Embassy Suites in Charleston.

“He combines the art of magic with the science of psychology and the power of intuition to create the impression that nothing is impossible,” A KPCC news release says of Karges.

Karges is an award-winning entertainer, a nationally recognized speaker and an author.

Karges has made over 5,000 appearances in 22 countries on four continents and in all 50 states. When he’s not traveling, he lives in Wheeling with his wife, Charlotte.

In the past, there have been comedians and magicians but this is the first time a mentalist will be the entertainment at the event.

Friday Night Live serves as the only fundraising event for KPCC Counseling. The organization provides over $200,000 in uncompensated services annually.

Support of the event allows KPCC to offset these costs and provide counseling to clients who can’t afford it.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $85 each.
