New Milford holds sessions on charter changes
Two informational sessions will be held on the newly adopted New Milford Charter revisions.
The sessions will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Dec. 4 in the E. Paul Martin Room at Town Hall. The presentations will last 30 to 45 minutes and will be led by Town Attorney Matt Grimes.
“These sessions offer all New Milford voters the opportunity to understand what the revised charter they approved means for New Milford,” Mayor Pete Bass said in a news release. “I encourage all to attend.”
He also thanked the commission of its hard work.
The charter is required to be reviewed every five years though it was last updated in 2006.
The changes, most of which are related to town finances, were approved during the general election with nearly 6,370 yes votes and about 3,620 no votes.
