Cinema Wasteland summons cult movie freaks & geeks to Strongsville

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Bring on the freaks. Summon the cretins and the geeks. There’s a bloody bucket of movie mayhem just waiting to runneth over.

Wowee zowee, it’s Cinema Wasteland Movie and Memorabilia Expo.

This weekend, the celebration of movie monsters, horror icons and late-night thrills will hit Holiday Inn Strongsville, 15471 Royalton Road.

The celebration of B-movie will not only feature dozens of movies, it will also boasts memorabilia games, panel discussions and guest appearances by horror actors.

This go-around rolls a gaggle of guests including cult movie legend Michael Berryman, or JR Bookwalter or, get this, P.J. Soles and Dey Young of “Rock ‘n’ Roll High School.”

The 1979 cult classic starring the ladies and, of course, the Ramones, is among the twenty-some flicks playing Cinema Wastland. The selections are eclectic and run the gamut from action to horror to Blaxploitation flicks.

The festival includes midnight movies on Friday and Saturday nights. It starts 4:30 p.m. Friday and concludes 5 p.m. Sunday.
