Top recruit Jordan Horston chooses Tennessee over UConn, several others
Jordan Horston, the No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2019 as rated by ESPN, has committed to play at Tennessee. UConn was one of several top schools in the running for the 6-foot-1 guard from Columbus Africentric High School in Ohio.
Horston announced her commitment Wednesday morning at a ring ceremony at her high school.
Aside from UConn, Horston had also considered North Carolina, UCLA, Louisville and Ohio State.
Horston enjoyed a strong junior season, averaging 18.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 5.1 steals. Her school went 27-3 and claimed the Ohio Division III state championship.
This past summer, Horston earned MVP honors as she helped lead the US U-17 team to a World Cup title in Belarus. She averaged 10.1 points, 5.1 assists and 3.4 steals per game.
