Cops: Bridgeport man arrested in Stamford for selling cocaine
STAMFORD — A Bridgeport man was arrested Thursday night for allegedly attempting to sell cocaine in Stamford’s West Side.
Jose Delgado-Vargas, 48, drove to Stamford in a maroon Acura and was pulled over near West Avenue around 6:30 p.m. by city police alerted to a possible drug deal.
Police searched Delgado-Vargas’ car and found roughly two ounces of cocaine, some of which was packaged into 16 small bags, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.
Officers also found about $5,550 in cash and three cell phones.
Delgado-Vargas was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
Conklin said Delgado-Vargas has been arrested numerous times and has a lengthy criminal record. He has previously been charged with sale of narcotics, forgery, reckless endangerment, criminal trespassing, and larceny, among others infractions.
Delgado-Vargas posted the $50,000 bond levied on his arrest. His court date is April 11.
