Washington Redskins Preview Capsule
WASHINGTON REDSKINS (9-8)
New faces: CB Josh Norman, TE Vernon Davis, SS David Bruton Jr., rookie RB Robert Kelley, rookie LB Su’a Cravens.
Key losses: RB Alfred Morris, FS Dashon Goldson, DE Jason Hatcher, QB Robert Griffin III.
Strengths: Passing game with second-year starting QB Kirk Cousins throwing to TE Jordan Reed and WRs DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon. Additions of Norman and Bruton make secondary more imposing. Continuity across roster should help after NFC East title.
Weaknesses: Uncertainty in running game with Matt Jones and Kelley after Morris’ departure. Lack of depth on defensive line could make things difficult if injuries crop up.
Fantasy Players To Watch: Cousins, Reed, Jones, Jackson, Garcon.
Expectations: Being competitive in NFC East especially after injury to Cowboys QB Tony Romo. Not Super Bowl contender but could be playoff-bound again if Cousins makes most of his franchise-tag season and defense gets things right.
