Duke Energy: 4Q Earnings Snapshot
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ Duke Energy Corp. (DUK) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $464 million.
The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company said it had net income of 65 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 84 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 89 cents per share.
The electric utility posted revenue of $6.12 billion in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $2.67 billion, or $3.76 per share. Revenue was reported as $24.52 billion.
Duke Energy expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.80 to $5.20 per share.
Duke Energy shares have climbed almost 4 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has increased nearly 10 percent. The stock has increased 16 percent in the last 12 months.
