Eric Church plays two nights at Mohegan Sun Arena

April 26, 2017

Eric Church brings his 60-city “Holdin’ My Own Tour” to Connecticut this week. The country star will perform at Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, April 27, and Friday, April 28.

A North Carolina native, Church has been breaking concert attendance records over the past few years. His Outsiders World Tour (2014-2015) saw him performing for more than 800,000 fans in 65 cities, and was named one of Rolling Stone Magazines “Must-See Tours.”

Church, who turns 40 on May 3, is known for hits such as “Kill a Word” and “Mr. Misunderstood.” He’s also known for wearing aviator sunglasses, which he’s said are helpful in protecting his contact lenses from drying out.

A singer and songwriter, he was a teen when he bought a guitar and taught himself to play. The young musician had a regular gig at a local bar by the time he was a junior in high school.

His debut album, 2006’s “Sinners Like Me,” produced three tunes that hit the Top 20 — “Guys Like Me,” “How ’Bout You,” and “Two Pink Lines.”
